The article reports on the terms "public diplomacy," "corporate diplomacy," and "public relations." The author focuses on identifying the popular meaning of each term as well as discussing his personal interpretation of the terminology. It is suggested that the correct usage of the term "corporate diplomacy" within Asian companies, particularly those in Japan and China, refers to the levels of social responsibility, crisis management, and issues monitoring within a business enterprise. The implications of each term for chief executive officers are also discussed.
