Block copolymers of dimethyl succinate, ethylene glycol, and polytetramethylene glycol were used to prepare degradable fibres which were then tested for their mechanical properties. Block copolymer samples were also compression-moulded. When the polyether content was increased, a decrease in crystallinity, melting point and fibre strength occurred, whilst the breaking strength increased.
