Abstract

Successful journey: This retrospective Review describes investigations into the total synthesis and evaluation of biologically active small molecules (such as iso-fludelone; see structure), as well as the development of a program directed toward the chemical synthesis of therapeutically relevant larger molecules, including the glycoprotein erythropoietin. © 2010 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
