Abstract

Varicella infection is generally a benign, self-limited disease, but serious complications can occur, especially in immunocompromised children, neonates, and adults. Ongoing education on the risks of infection and the benefits of vaccination is necessary to minimize the incidence as well as the morbidity and mortality of this disease.
