Abstract

Supply chain sustainability must be considered in development of biofuels options to reduce global CO2emissions in the transportation sector, while also meeting a broader set of stakeholder needs in the social and environmental dimensions. Impacts on water resources and biodiversity must be considered, along with regional economic and social factors. Transparency in assessment is critical for effective stakeholder engagement and reliable decision making, to insure the development and deployment of truly value-added energy solutions.
