Abstract

Different hardware platforms for embedded systems often have different special equipment, and the normal use of these devices could not do without the driver which is a bridge between the hardware and systems. Embedded systems are the computers, communications, electronics, multimedia and data transmission processing technology and the product of the combination of specific objects. With the development of information technology and the popularity of digital products, embedded systems are widely applied to the network, handheld communications equipment, defense, electronics commence, automatic control and other fields. Microsoft Windows CE.NET is a multi-duties, modularize, good real-time embedded operating system (OS) with formidable traffic capacity, which supports a lot of CPUs. This paper introduces model structure and design method about device driver and its development process in Windows CE.NET through a simple stream interface driver example. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
