A study on the structure about the consciousness of relinquishment of the driver's license

Abstract

The number of traffic accidents caused by aged drivers increasing that's a serious social problem in Japan. To prevent such accidents, relinquishment of the driver's license system has been put into effect. Consider that everyone will have to give up driving someday, so it is quite important to prepare the system of returning drivers' license. In this paper, the authors looked for the factors of 'when people feel that they can spend daily life without car' and about 'lifestyle without driving' among both those who have driver's license and those who don't. As a result, it has discovered that there are the differences of factors and attitude toward the relinquishment of the driver's license system between those who have driver's license and don't have. This research has also discovered of necessity for upgrading the public transportation.高齢ドライバーの引き起こす交通事故の増加が社会問題となっている。こうした事故を防止する目的で、運転免許返納制度が実施されている。多くの人がいつかは運転を諦めなければならないことを考えると、高齢ドライバーの増加が確実な我が国では、返納を行える環境を整えていくことが非常に重要な課題である。そこで本研究では、免許保有者と返納者で「車に頼らなくても生活できる」と感じる要因の違いについて把握し、保有者と返納者をわける意識構造、返納者の返納満足度に関する意識構造について分析を行った。その結果、保有者と返納者で要因や意識構造に違いがあること、また保有者の返納制度活用意向や返納者の返納して良かったと感じる意識を高めていくためには、公共交通の充実度を高めていく必要があることを明らかにした。
