Abstract

It is not realistic for any company to assume that it will continue to succeed by just prolonging today's excellent practices. To continue to survive and prosper, a company must possess two strategies --- downsizing the existing businesses and upsizing into new businesses. Our definition of downsizing is to streamline the organization to reduce cost; upsizing, on the other hand, is to expand into new business activities to secure employment and enhance revenue.
