Abstract

“The Belt and Road” region is a cluster of developing and underdeveloped countries, and holds characteristics of a wide variety of risks. These risks pose a threat to regional economic development and overseas business. It is a prerequisite for Chinese enterprises to achieve success in overseas trade and investment to correctly identify the overseas business risks of countries along the “Belt and Road” and implement targeted risk prevention. This article analyzes the current risk status of overseas business in “the Belt and Road”, and points out that good multilateral relations and a smooth dialogue mechanism can withstand risks to a certain extent, promote trade and investment, and help the construction of “the Belt and Road”. Finally, the article puts forward policy recommendations: the government should enhance strategic mutual trust, strengthen risk assessment of overseas business, and implement the signing of intergovernmental cooperation agreements. Enterprises should establish risk prevention system and improve the degree of localization
