Abstract

Internet and demand for bandwidth is growing rapidly. New services are being constantly introduced. Static contracts do not reflect the dynamics of customer's needs. On the other hand, there is some amount of valuation coming from safety and bandwidth price guarantee. In order to satisfy both of those factors, two level allocation process is introduced. This dual auctioning process allows to make long and short term bandwidth contracts depending on specific agent preferences. By exploiting iterative Vickrey auction mechanism at both allocation levels, efficiency of the process is maintained. © 2010 Springer-Verlag.
