The present chapter aims to understand the issue of disability in India in the context of various legislations available to different stakeholders, and its success in addressing the concerns of the population as well as the management of disability. Also, the chapter aims to understand two types of disabilities-intellectual disability and learning disability-with respect to their cardinal symptoms, prevalence, assessment, and intervention to give a broad understanding of the disabilities since these are understood to be the most prevalent in classroom settings. The last section of the chapter includes the results of a primary research conducted in order to understand the knowledge and perception about inclusive education amongst teachers of regular schools. The chapter concludes with effective recommendations that may help in better management of disability across the nation for children.
