Abstract

This paper reports a new geometry with defected ground for broadband applications. The operating bandwidth of the proposed geometry is 2.04 GHz suitable for modern communication systems. Asymmetric slots are etched into the ground and rectangular patch is optimized for bandwidth enhancement. The proposed antenna by simulation achieved the bandwidth of 71.14% with uniform gain over the entire band. A reasonably high dielectric constant LTCC substrate had been assimilated and it is simulated using CST microwave design tool.
