Abstract

Unexplored and unexploited plant fibres are being used in fashion industries along with man-made fibres. Some of these fibres, such as flax, hemp, etc., which are quite popular in fashion industries and standard fashion market, are also available globally. There are quite a number of plant fibres that have huge potential in fashion and are now coming into focus in the field of “green” fashion. This chapter discusses the major unexplored plant fibres that can be used in green fashion commercially. It covers both wearable and nonwearable fashions made from these plant fibres. The chapter also emphasizes the aspects of cultivation and production of the fashion products and present technologies in the development of the green fashion products. Nevertheless, it highlights the future uses of these unexplored fibres in a sustainable fashion.
