Abstract

A new dry ice baited mosquito trap is made and described in this paper. The effciency of the new trap and Kato's animal baited trap is compared ; Culex pipiens pallens is not effectively captured by the new trap, whereas C. tritaeniorhynchus and Anopheles hyrcanus sinensis are captured effectively by the new trap. Aedes vexans nipponii seems to be captured in equal numbers by both traps. The difference of abundance of the mosquito population is recorded in the two kinds of mosquito trap.
