Abstract

Zinc hot-dip galvanizing is one of the oldest methods of protection against corrosion. The goal of this study was to evaluate the influence of zinc bath temperature and immersion time on the coating quality. Three values of bath temperatures and two immersion times were selected. The surface roughness was measured with a surface roughness tester. The corrosion resistance of the samples was evaluated by salt spray corrosion test. The coating thickness was measured with a thickness gauge. The microstructure of the coatings was analyzed, and coating thickness values verified by image analysis methods.
