Abstract

A new species of the genus Rhodospatha (Araceae) from the Colombian Amazon is described and illustrated. The new species is restricted to the Caquetá department between 300–520 m altitude, growing mainly as a rheophyte on rocks along small rivers, creeks and waterfalls. This life-form has been not recorded in Rhodospatha before.
