Abstract

(from the cover) In this [book], Meyer Friedman, the physician who 1st identified TAB [Type A behavior] in 1959, offers a full description of the most effective means of correctly diagnosing the disorder. More importantly, he presents for the 1st time a method of treating it. Noteworthy features of this inaugural volume include: a description of an almost infallible method of diagnosing TAB; a presentation of the 1st successful therapeutic procedure for modifying the effects of this malady [and] an outline of Friedman's unique quantitative analytical method for determining TAB severity, which allows clinicians to make more informed decisions about treatment options. Clinicians and researchers interested in modifying coronary-prone behavior, as well as psychologists, cardiologists, psychiatrists, and educators who come into contact with TAB patients, will find this [book] to be an indispensable reference.
