Abstract

Anterior and posterior ankle impingement may become debilitating and needs specific attention when dealing with painful syndromes around the ankle. There are multiple causes and conditions that may provoke either an anterior or posterior ankle impingement. A proper knowledge of the underlying problems and physical examination will lead to the right diagnosis. The correct diagnosis helps to formulate an individual treatment plan that ensures good-to-excellent outcome while attempting to bring patients back to sports.
