Abstract

Key Features: Systemic therapy for dermatologic disease is generally safe, but requires knowledge of the patient's medical history, potential drug side effects, toxicity monitoring guidelines, and potential drug interactions. Identification of genetic polymorphisms in drug metabolism allows in some cases for predicting those patients at risk for adverse drug reactions. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
