Abstract

This chapter summarises the four dialectical modes of thought, structure, process, relation and transformation and shows how people construct their view of reality using them. We introduce the Dialectical Thinking Cycle, a process by which people can systematically think through and change aspects of reality. We argue that the use of the four modes of dialectical thinking is a more effective way of thinking about the complexity inherent in reality, than logical thinking.
