The aim of the study is to analyze the conditions of economic growth and determine the strategic priorities of the digitalization of the Russian economy. The research toolkit includes methods to analyze static and dynamic information. The authors rely on the hypothesis that improving the quality of life of the population and ensuring Russia’s national security depends on the pace of development of the “digital economy” based on the study of the global connectivity index. The study was conducted using the methods of economic and statistical analysis (comparison, calculation of absolute, relative and average values, tabular and graphic display of information), expert estimates. For the first time, the study made it possible to generalize part of the empirical data on the prospects for the implementation of an optimization model of the information economy in Russia. The authors define the digitization of the economy as the most important condition for economic growth in the modern world. The main strategic directions of digitalization of the Russian economy were identified: the main innovations in business models, and not in technologies; creating products and services on a project basis; common information space for the design, production, operation and organization of business; orientation on receiving income from servicing the sold products and services; selling sales through industrial ecosystems individually; customer retention through ecosystems through the implementation of standards, rules, methodologies; functioning of the economy on the basis of software-managed infrastructure.
