Abstract

Pycnopodia helianthoides (Brandt) feeds on small organisms, primarily mollusks, in Prince William Sound, Alaska. Throughout the year the percentage of P. helianthoides with prey in their stomachs ranged between 44-100 percent. During the winter and early spring, the number of prey items found in the stomachs was reduced. © 1975 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
