Abstract

As the Arctic's strategic position has become increasingly prominent, China's existing icebreaker fleet has been unable to meet the growing demand for polar affairs such as polar scientific research, Arctic shipping, and polar emergency. From the perspective of route planning, the marine environmental conditions faced by nuclear-powered icebreakers have been sorted out. The research status of domestic nuclear power plant, the selection and design of nuclear power propulsion plant and the main technical requirements were put forward. Finally, the overall plan design was carried out from the aspects of general layout, main dimensions, shaft power, etc., and the main technical requirements for hull design were put forward.
