Abstract

The increasing quality of ICT seems to be paralleled with an escalating complexity and scope of e-Health processes. E-Health, which it is normally perceived as a component of e-government, offers an opportunity for hospitals and medical centers to integrate their services and communicate standardized medical data intended for easy sharing of patient medical records electronically. Such services are expected to deliver cost-effective and high quality health care. This research aims to investigate the factors leading to enhancing and adopting e-health in Kuwait. Such factors range from human to socio-technical issues, access to electronic health resources, awareness of HICT, utilization of HICT, and perceived factors responsible for use or non-use of HICT among professionals to deliver best understanding of e-Health systems and highlight the significant objectives, tools, models, and obstacles of such systems.
