A growing number of cities have been going green. While this concept has different meanings in different communities, it reflects a growing concern of large and small cities to be aware and proactive about their environment, their resources, and their impact on climate. The Local Government Commission (LGC) is one such organization. © 2009 Springer-Verlag New York.
