Abstract

The aim of this paper is to show the benefits of digitalization in music therapy training and measurements. It also takes into consideration whether the use of music technology helps music therapists and their clients to develop certain abilities for successfully healing. Moreover, we investigate the way the modern, digitalized instruments help in diagnosing and improving the health of people with either simple or complex needs. A total of 44 music therapists were interviewed and their answers were carefully discussed. The findings suggest that digitalized music technology (i) allows music therapists to diagnose and conduct valuable therapy sessions within therapeutic contexts which has not previously been identified and (ii) offers clients a sense of accomplishment, success and independence in spite of existing health problems. We reveal that digital transformation and technology use easier the therapist’s way and provides numerous opportunities to permit access to music-therapy for people with problems/needs.
