Abstract

A real-time guiding system for highway traffic safety in fog zone is established in this study. The system integrates heavy fog monitoring system, wireless transformation system based on ZigBee network and warning system. The warning system is composed of sparking lamps and information display system. When receives the signal of heavy fog on highway, the system will send warning messages to drivers in time in case of the occurance of traffic accidents. The information transmission distance between the monitoring system and the display system is about 1 km. To ensure the feasibility of the transmission distance, the research verifies the length of the transmission distance in theory. Besides, amendment formula was established to ensure the correctness of the maximum distance at last.
