Abstract

A new series of 2-pyrazolines (4a-j) were synthesized by reacting chalcones (3a-j) with phenyl hydrazine in the presence of pyridine and ethanol. All these compounds were characterized by means of their IR, 1H-NMR spectral data and microanalyses. When these compounds were evaluated for analgesic activity, some of them were found to possess significant activity, when compared to standard drugs. © 2012 Hindawi Publishing Corporation.
