Abstract

In this work we study the equilibrium problem for rectangular panels made of a no-tension material, clamped at the bottom, subjected to distributed vertical loads on the top, and to different types of lateral loads. Admissible and equilibrated stress fields are interpreted as tensor-valued measures with zero divergence. Such stress fields are explicitly determined under the assumption that the measure is absolutely continuous outside a smooth curve which supports a δ type singularity of the stress.
