Abstract

Smart farming is a rapidly growing sector in the agriculture industry today. With the help of modern technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), big data analytics and Artificial Intelligence, farmers are now able to monitor their crops and livestock more efficiently and forecast its future requirement. There is still a need for a secure and transparent platform for the supply chain manage and food safety. Exploring the possibilities of the Blockchain system is the goal of this research for smart farming solutions and supply chain management in agriculture. The use of Blockchain Technology in agriculture and food security is a promising solution to overcome the challenges faced by the industry. Blockchain can help to ensure food safety, traceability, and transparency while reducing costs coupled with making payment digitally and finally increasing efficiency. This paper aims to discuss the role of Blockchain Technology in agriculture and food security and its potential benefits in terms piracy, traceability, payment and content aggregations and preventing against theft, hack and malpractices.
