This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the perfor-mative research paradigm as it emerged from the academic discipline of the creative arts and considers its implications for research in contemporary cultural geography. It goes on to describe the methodological approach to a research project involving practitioners of 'slow art', dance movement therapy, subterranean graffiti, poetic permaculture, and fibre art and concludes by contrasting non-representational research with ethnography.
