Abstract

Tested 4 hypotheses on the effects of environmental uncertainty and participation in decision making on employee job satisfaction using the organizational expectancy theory and R. S. Schuler's (1980) role and expectancy perception model as the paradigms for analysis. Ss were 102 employees (aged 19–51 yrs) of 41 organizations. A questionnaire on (1) the relationship between role perception and environmental uncertainty, participation in decision making, and employee job satisfaction and (2) the relationship among environmental uncertainty, participation in decision making, and employee job satisfaction was administered.
