Energy production for a vast number of applications in modern cities causes a significant amount of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. Sustainable development for modern cities intends not only to limit GHG emissions in power generation but also to develop cost-effective, innovative, and resilient energy systems. To do so, micro modular nuclear reactors and Renewable Energy Sources (RESs) can be combined to provide a carbon-free, economic, and reliable energy system for a comprehensive energy market in industries and residents. A Nuclear-Renewable Integrated Energy System (N-R IES) is secure, and it has several numbers of technoeconomic benefits. This chapter addresses an overview of N-R hybrid energy systems and carries out a case study with real data. Sensitivity analysis is also conducted to validate the key findings of the case study.
