Abstract

Mechanical relaxation behavior of polyethylene crystallized with different degrees of lamellar orientation; mechanical measurements were made using torsion pendulum apparatus of standard design, direction of shear being normal to b-axis for oriented samples; temperature range covered was from 100 to 400 K; no definite effects attributable to orientation were observed for either or relaxation process, whereas for relaxation results for loss modulus indicate that slight decrease in peak height resulted from presence of lamellar orientation.
