Abstract

This article presents the design and implementation of an IT platform based on LoRaWAN technology. It aims to meet the challenges posed by population growth in managing essential services such as urban water. Specifically, Ecuador needs help managing urban water consumption due to today’s traditional systems. The proposed solution is implementing an IT system based on a cloud computing platform that manages drinking water consumption based on urban smart water meters data using LoRaWAN technology. The system provides services such as user, meter, contract, and incident management. The conclusion reached is that the digitization of essential services such as urban water management is fundamental for the development plans of cities and that the use of information and communication technologies favors the evolution of society and contributes to the Digital Transformation of services such as urban water.
