Abstract

Molecular epidemiology is to investigate spatial distribution and changes of pathogens using molecular tools. It is a very important component of disease control and tracking of nosocomial infection. This chapter describes the molecular methods currently used in the microbiology epidemiology with the discussion of their advantages and limitations.
