Abstract

Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a wireless network which transmits the data from source to destination without any connection. Currently, this network is extensively utilized all around the world as it doesn’t need any fixed wired network to establish communication concerning the source as well as the destination. The complete network can be established by utilizing a transmitter, receiver, processor and the battery. In today's scenario, the MANET is preferred in many real-time applications for example military surveillance, disaster management, air pollution monitoring, etc. MANET is an ad-hoc network which may modify positions then arrange itselfby transferring the nodes. As MANETs are moveable, it prefers wireless links to communicate numerous networks which doesn’t include infrastructure or any consolidated administration. MANET areexposed to various security assaultsespecially gray hole. In gray hole attack, selective dropping of packets arises, and the packetunable to transmit further. This paper proposes Secure Detection Prevention and Elimination Gray Hole (SDPEGH) technique. In this study, DSDV is considered and the recommendedmethodis implemented in NS-2 software. The performance metrics similar to throughput, Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR), security and consumption of energy are analyzed.
