Abstract

to test whether different strategies of coping with stress are gender-related, several clinical and psychological characteristics in a group of patients with chronic back pain were related to the stress hormone levels conclude that in spite of the common underlying endocrine responses to distress in men and women, gender differences in psychological response appear to modify endocrine responses to the experience of pain (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2022 APA, all rights reserved)
