Abstract

A fiducial marker is an object used in the field of view of imaging system which appears in the image produced, for use as a point of reference or measure. This paper explains a novel fiducial marker generation and also technique to automatically detect and recognize them in different environments. Hamming code technique is used to encode and decode a fiducial marker, and for the detection process we make use of grey scale segmentation algorithm and the methods have been validated. In the experiment result we compare the performance of the algorithm under different lighting condition and we also calculate its efficiency. © 2013 Springer.
