Abstract

The secure communication between users and devices is extremely important for Internet of Things (IoT) applications, if the communication between the two parties is not secure, user privacy and security will be threatened. So far, many solutions for secure communication between IoT devices have been proposed, but not all of them meet the security goals. Ashibani et al. proposed an identity-based signcryption scheme with message recover (IBS-MR) for smart home communications, they claimed that their solution not only provide effective authentication, but also ensure data integrity and confidentialty. But we find that it is not the case, their solution does not guarantee data integrity and is not resistant to replay attacks, in addition, it lacks formal security certification. Therefore, we propose a new identity-based signcryption scheme with message recover (IBS-MR) in smart home system to solve these problems, our scheme does not require hash-to-point operation and we prove our IBS-MR scheme secure in the random oracle model.
