Abstract
This introduction explains how the idea of the book developed and elaborates the claim that the book is a counter-narrative to prevailing populist criminal justice policies across the world. After setting down the discursive parameters and the complexity of the concept of rehabilitation it provides a preview of the content of each Chapter.
