Abstract

Carboxytherapy refers to the intradermal and subdermal administration of CO2 for therapeutical purposes. It is a safe, inexpensive procedure and an excellent therapeutical tool for the treatment of many skin disorders, as well as a wide variety of inaesthetics. In this chapter, the physiological effects of CO 2 on target tissue, indications, contraindications, complications, and procedure are discussed.
