Abstract

Pulmonary Sequestration (PS) consists of lung parenchyma that does not regularly communicate with the normal tracheobronchial tree and is supplied by an aberrant systemic vessel mainly from the thoracic and abdominal aorta. Due to the risk of recurrent infection or malignant degeneration later in life, elective resection between 6 and 12 months of age is recommended. Thoracoscopic resection of PS is feasible and safe. Care must be taken during operative resection to identify the aberrant systemic vessel.
