Abstract

Node localization is an important service for Wireless sensor networks applications because in order to correlate the observations of a physical phenomenon made by different sensor nodes, their precise locations need to be known. Yet robust sensor location is still an open problem today. While there are many approaches in existence, they all have significant weakness that limits their applicability to real world problems. Lots of localization techniques were discussed and compared, and the RIPS was highly commended. The Radio Interferometric Positioning System (RIPS) achieves high localization accuracy and long range while maintaining the simplicity of the hardware. © 2012 Springer-Verlag London Limited.
