Abstract

Noninvasive ventilation (NIV) in patients with pneumonia is still a controversial topic, when it comes to patients with no cardiopulmonary comorbidities. However, pneumonia in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or heart failure is a widely accepted indication for NIV. The patient we treated was a 56 year old man with congestive heart failure and pneumonia.
