Abstract

An exactly solvable model of the crystal-vacuum interface is constructed which exhibits a roughening transition. The model is obtained as a special limit of a ferromagnetic Ising model and it is isomorphic to the symmetric six-vertex model. Some of the thermodynamic properties of the system are discussed. © 1977 The American Physical Society.
