Abstract

There is a strong rationale for integrating the resilience perspective into the conceptualization and study of children with clinical disorders. In this chapter we will explore the key factors that warrant consideration within the field of resilience (e.g., choosing appropriate outcome variables, understanding how we examine resilience in a specific population) and discuss how these factors would apply to a clinical population. We will use children with ADHD as a case study to highlight our rationale. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2015 APA, all rights reserved). (chapter)
