In this paper, we propose a new class of mechanisms based on the properties of their graph representation. As opposed to pure parallel or hybrid mechanisms, these mechanisms can not be represented with a series-parallel graph. This characteristic prevents analysis of their mobility by standard methods. We introduce a novel approach based on graph theory to compute their mobility and we apply this method to a non series-parallel mechanism. © Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 2013.
