Abstract

A review with 83 refs. A discussion is given on the concepts, quantities and problems commonly encountered when dealing with electrode/soln. interfaces. The roles of the zero-charge potential, work function, surface heterogeneity, adsorption of H2O, the permittivity of the interfacial layer of the solvent mols. and the p.d. are all discussed.
