Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to completely transform the life style in all aspects. AI been more popular in the business world, but it is now finding its way into higher education, not only in the areas of teaching and learning, but also in the other topics covered in this chapter. During COVID-19 the use of technology in HEIs has become vital for operational sustainability. Regulators started to reconsider education transformation. The use of AI in Education is expected to improve HEI performance towards effective governance of academic and non-academic operations. The aim of this chapter is to determine the recent status of AI in higher education domain as well as to shed the light on future opportunities and challenges. The findings of this chapter will provide an oversight of the use of AI in Education that could be adapted by HEIs. The conclusion of the chapter will demonstrate recommendations to support HEI governance and regulators.
